Your website is set to launch within a few weeks and as the days count down excitement builds within your business. Just one more thing to do, make sure everything works.

No matter how far in the game you are, a new site launch is one of the most stressful parts of your business plan. Minor details often get forgotten and your employees are working over time to eradicate any out standing errors. Even with a team of in house testers and developers, you can never be sure if what you have to offer is good enough for your customers. This is exactly how home furniture and furnishing brand Kuldea, felt in the weeks leading up to their site launch.

Who?

Kuldea is a home furniture and furnishing website, designed to help customers search, find and compare products from across the market. As they prepared to have their new site launched within weeks, Kuldea's internal testing team could no longer provide large scale testing due to a lack of time, funding and device coverage. With the launch so close, Kuldea knew they needed to get help from an external testing community.

Kuldea teamed up with BugFinders and testing soon began. Over a 5 day period, 92.5 working days worth of testing was performed with 232 testers from around the globe.

The results

Over the testing period, the community uncovered 99 different conversion and CX issues across Kuldea's website, spanning 354 devices and browsers. These bugs ranged from incorrect display results to delivery form issues. Using the BugFinders portal, Kuldea was then able to go through and eradicate all these bugs starting at the most critical.

Throughout the testing process, the community discovered multiple issues surrounding Internet Explorer and other older versions of browsers, which had previously been under the radar. Kuldea expected their customers to use only the most recent browsers, however this wasn't going to be the case. Without testing they could have lost thousands of pounds in revenue, as IE users wouldn't have be able to perform basic conversions.

Using external testers meant that Kuldea were then able to speed up their release time securely and beat the holiday season ecommerce spike, opening up the possibility of achieving an extra month of sales.

So, what is the biggest secret to a successful web launch, guaranteed to give you more revenue? It should be obvious by now, but if not it's Web testing!
