BugFinders, the Cheltenham based global Crowdsourced Testing business, has appointed Richard Blundell to be their new Managing Director. Founded in 2011 by husband and wife team Donna and Martin Mudge, BugFinders now delivers web and mobile software testing solutions to some of the biggest brand and eCommerce organisations in the world.

BugFinders has grown rapidly in recent years and now has over 55,000 software testers in more than 145 different countries across the world – as well as its flourishing team in Cheltenham. Donna and Martin will both be stepping down from the day to day running of the business to allow Richard to manage the business moving forward.

In his new role, Richard will be responsible for all business strategies across BugFinders’ worldwide audience and will continue to build out the management team required to take BugFinders to the next level. He will also be tasked with delivering the continual growth of the business within BugFinders’ existing partnership and acquisition strategy. He will be based at the Group’s UK head office in Cheltenham.

Richard has a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering rapid growth and profitability within SaaS technology firms throughout his career.

He was previously the Chief Executive of the iconic social housing technology firm Housing Partners, a business that transformed the lives of thousands of Housing Association tenants across the UK. Prior to that Richard was a Communications Director at the MessageLabs Group who were also based in Gloucestershire. The MessageLabs Group was sold to Symantec in 2008 for £400m.

Martin Mudge, co-founder of BugFinders, said: “We’re delighted that Richard has chosen to join BugFinders. He is uniquely qualified and experienced, with a proven ability to successfully manage and grow technology businesses, building both reputation and profitability along the way. Richard will be instrumental in delivering our expected rapid growth across the next 3 to 5 years, whilst also helping us deliver an outstanding customer experience for our internationally recognised customers.”

Richard Blundell commented, “I’m very proud to be appointed Managing Director of a truly innovative business full of highly talented and dedicated people. Everyone in the industry knows just how promising BugFinders’ future looks and I’m delighted to be leading one of the great British technology firms to new heights. We’re continuing a period of rapid growth and therefore the journey has only just begun.
